The AZWR has many dogs that are rescued every month; not all of them are able to be listed on the website. Our goal is to match each dog to the perfect family, so we encourage you to apply even if you don't see a weimaraner right now. Applicants on our wait list receive higher priority on dogs as they are rescued.

Melody is ready to find her forever home.
She was picked up as a stray out of town and had to have emergency surgery as soon as we got her to Phoenix. She is healing nicely. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO HELP PAY HER VET EXPENSES!!! We cannot do this without your support. We think she is between 4 and 5 years old and is definitely ALPHA female. Melody will do best in a home where she is the only dog. She has not been getting along with our females. So far there has not been a problem with the males. We feel the best home would be one with older children and no small dogs or cats. She recently had puppies, so her tummy and waist line are a bit big right now, she will need to be on a special diet. We think she may have been served from the table because she is very finicky and will ask for something other than what she is served.
